| Lan Systems supply digital media screens to Phoenix |

The Phoenix is fast becoming the 'centre of excellence' for digital media in Leicestershire and have recently show-cased the work of a number of local digital artists at a special exhibition held at the Phoenix.
Two of the pieces of art created by local artist Sean Clark, required large screen televisions to be mounted on the wall of the foyer at the Phoenix and to be controled by PC's running specialist software developed by Sean to demonstrate his ideas. Phoenix Head of Operations, Andrew Jones, asked Lan Systems Managing Director, Wayne Taylor to develop a solution that could be used for this exhibition but looking further forward could also be used for showcasing other digital art or any number of other uses. The proposal that we put forward was to supply large screen, high-definition LCD televisions directly connected to unique fanless PC's that are effectively 'sandwiched' between the screen and the wall. These high-specification, ultra-thin PC's are barely thicker than a standard LCD or Plasma wall mount and are more than capable of displaying slideshows or full motion high-definition video, they have their own dedicated broadband Internet connections so will be able to display online content if required. The two digital art pieces that are currently being showcased are called 'ArtScanner' and 'Anonomising Webcam', each of these are displayed on their own screen and at the exhibition on 10th March caused quite a stir amongst the visitors.
